The Rhythm Room opened in 1991 and proprietor Bob Corritore (who hosts Those Lowdown Blues, a solid block of blues each Sunday night on KJZZ) has brought legends like R.L. Burnside and Robert Lockwood to town, often recording the onstage jam sessions for prosperity.

Music: The Sugar Thieves have a huge cult following in Phoenix, and they are sure to get your toes tapping, fingers snapping, and hands clapping!  The band is a perfect mix of American music with sounds of New Orleans, Memphis, Chicago, and Mississippi. They fuse blues, roots, folk, gospel, and a little jazz to make up one big bowl of sugar! The band features Mikel Lander on guitar, Jeff Naylor on bass, Shea Marshall on organ and saxophone, David Libman on drums, and Meridith Moore on vocals.
